Everyday Gratitude Practices to Try This November

Gratitude doesn’t have to be reserved for Thanksgiving – it can transform the entire month. Here are easy ways to practice gratitude daily:

Keep a Gratitude Journal – Write down 3 things you’re thankful for each morning. Example: “Hot coffee, a cozy sweater, and a call from my friend.” Small things add up.

Thank-You Notes – Send handwritten notes to people who’ve made a difference this year – teachers, coworkers, or even a favorite local business owner.

Family Sharing – At dinner, go around the table and share one highlight of the day. It’s a simple tradition kids love too.

Volunteer Together – Join a local food drive or soup kitchen. For example, Northwest Harvest always welcomes community help this time of year.

Digital Detox – Spend a day unplugged and focus on people around you. Use the time for a walk, board game night, or cooking together.

Gratitude Jar – Keep slips of paper where family members can jot down things they’re grateful for, then read them aloud on Thanksgiving.

By weaving gratitude into daily life, November feels more meaningful – and those habits can carry well beyond the holiday.
